Professional Development for Educators

Marine Activities, Resources and Education
Marine Activies, Resources and Education: A dynamic, K–6, inquiry-based science program that transforms entire elementary schools into laboratories for the exploration of the ocean.

We offer a variety of professional development programs for teachers that help bring the unique coastal resources of New Jersey to the K-12 classroom. Our goal is to provide New Jersey educators with the scientific content, pedagogy, and curriculum resources to integrate marine/ environmental concepts and themes into existing science curricula in accordance with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards. We use the coastal environments of New Jersey as learning laboratories, to help schools improve their ability to provide interdisciplinary, collaborative, student-centered, hands-on, and engaging learning environments for their students.
